There are many ways to  cause damage the hair: chemicals, the elements, pollution, even water can          be your enemy.  By using  effective shampoos and conditioners along with proper nutrition you can limit     the damage and have beautiful healthy hair.

Chemical processing is not always damaging to the hair,  if applied correctly or by a professional hair stylist.  The improper use of these chemicals and not using the proper conditioners will cause hair to become weak and damaged. Thermal styling tools such as   hair dryers and other heated appliances soften  the keratin of the hair.  If they are too hot, they can actually cause the water in the hair to boil and  tiny bubbles of steam form inside the softened hair shaft.  The hair is thereby weakened, and  may break all together.   Elements like the sun's  UV rays can actually destroy hair proteins, leaving hair brittle, rough and more easily damaged.  The wind can rob your hair of important moisture and cause the strands to rub together roughly,  leaving the hair damaged in its wake. This rubbing can crack, break, or even strip the protective cuticle from your hair.

Water and chemicals in  a pool are harmful to color treated  hair and the overall health of  your hair. when your hair is wet it's at it's most vulnerable, weakest state. That's because the strength providing inner bonds can be shattered when wet.   Rough treatment of wet hair can strip the protective cuticle layer of the hair. Simply brushing wet hair you can the hair to stretch past it's capcity and cause breakage.
